sparkling hibiscus lemonade

sparkling hibiscus lemonade

It gets unfortunately hot down here in southern Louisiana. One way I enjoy beating the heat is by mixing my own sodas.

“How?” you may ask. It’s quite simple, really; I take ginger ale and typically mix it with a fun juice, tea, or lemonade. Recently, I came across a deliciously tasty Hibiscus Lemonade by Bissap Breeze. I found it was missing something though…bubbles. So I decided to pair it with an equally delicious beverage — ginger ale — to get those bubbles I was so desperately searching for. The end result? A very sweet, very bubbly concoction that cooled me off beautifully.

So how do you make this Sparkling Hibiscus Lemonade?

  • 4-6 oz ginger ale (about half a can)
  • 2-3 oz of Bissap Breeze Hibiscus Lemonade

Makes 1 serving. It’s that easy. Enjoy!

This is a simple recipes that is one of Joshua’s favorites.

sweet biscuits

He calls them sweet biscuits and according to him I don’t make them hardly enough. In fact I couldn’t even get a picture of a full pie tin.

Here’s the recipe:

  • Homemade or canned biscuits
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1/3 Cup of sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp of cinnamon

Preheat oven to biscuit baking temp. Grease either a pie tin or baking sheet and then arrange the biscuits. (I prefer to use a pie tin because then the biscuits just sit in the glaze.)  Start baking the biscuits. Over medium heat melt the butter and then add the sugar and cinnamon. Stir until combined. For the last 5 minutes of  baking, spoon the butter mixture over the biscuits and finish baking until golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy!
